Procedure Release Notes 1.0

This release introduces the major Timeplan integration, making it possible to import and manage selected tasks from Open. It also includes improvements to templates, existing procedures, comments, and overall usability.

New Features and Fixes

Import Timeplan

Importing a Timeplan is now possible, allowing you to import an entire timeplan, or certain tasks inside a Timeplan. Navigate to Create → Import from Timeplan, then select rig and timeplan. A procedure will be created for each task in the timeplan.

  • All tasks are selected by default, but you can unselect individual tasks that are not yet ready for import.
  • A “Select all” checkbox is available for quick selection.
  • Later, you can import unselected or newly added tasks (“latecomer tasks”) to an already imported timeplan.

If the selected Timeplan is empty, you will be informed, and you will not be able to create Procedures until tasks are added to the Timeplan.

Activity notes and risks are not included at this stage. If a well is set, it will be inherited in the procedures. If not, you will be able to set it manually.

Procedures imports and syncs the following data:

  • Title: Changes made in Open will not sync, but you can update the title in Procedures.
  • Rig: Changes are synced from Open and cannot be changed in Procedures.
  • Type: Copied from the linked task. Changes in Open will not sync, but you can update it in Procedures.
  • Activities: Activities already added before the sync will remain visible, and new activities added after sync will also appear.
  • Planned start: Matches the planned start of the first activity.
  • Planned time: Calculated as the sum of all activities marked as “included in the procedure.”
  • Activity code: Included in the procedure.
  • Lane: Copied from the linked task. Later changes in Open will not sync, but you can update lane in Procedures.
  • Phase: Copied from the task in Open. Later changes will not sync, but you can update the phase in Procedures.
  • Wellbore: If set in the parent phase of the task, it will be inherited. Updates in Open will also update Procedures. If not set, the procedure will be imported without a wellbore, and you can set it manually.

The activity order and relation to tasks are synced from Open. If an activity is reordered, either with another activity or to another task/procedure in Open, the changes will also be reflected in Procedures.

Although certain synced values cannot be changed in Procedures, you can still update:

  • Steps and their attributes
  • Checklist
  • Documentation
  • Attachments
  • Status and revision (status will sync back to Open)

Execution orders are not available at this time (the tab is disabled). You also cannot delete or duplicate a procedure.

Timeplan Activities

Before importing a timeplan, you can preview the created activities to make sure you selected the correct one. You will see an overview of title, planned time, type, code, and lane. Activities are grouped by task. It is also possible to select a timeplan with no activities created yet.

Add from Template for Imported Procedures

It is now possible to add data from a template to procedures imported from Timeplan.

You can map template activities to procedure activities, but activity editing remain available only in Open.

Add from Existing Procedure

You can add activities, including checks, comments, documentation, and attachments, from an existing procedure.

This works similarly to “Add from Template,” but with a few adjustments: the “Include all” checkbox and “Drop activity here” functionality are hidden, so you can easily select and map only the activities you need.

Navigate Between Procedure and Timeplan

You can navigate between Procedures and the Timeplan. A link is available directly below the procedure header. Likewise, you can navigate from the Timeplan to Procedures by right-clicking an activity and selecting Go to Procedures.

Quick Edit Mode

Even if a timeplan and its tasks/procedures are imported, you can still use Quick Edit mode. However, only steps and their information can be updated - not activities. Quick Edit mode is also available on the Documentation tab.

 Layout Update to Error Messages

When an error message occurs, a new button “Report this to us” is available. Clicking it opens the support chat automatically so you can report the issue.

Retry Mechanism for Import Jobs

A technical fix ensures no data is lost if an import job or sync fails.
