Placeholder

To create a placeholder, simply double-click in the Gantt chart where you want it to appear (for example, GFA North or GFA South).

You can add details such as slot, well, name, date, duration, POB, and additional information like maturity phase.

The default crew is Rig Crew, shown in blue. You can change the crew if needed, the color will automatically update based on the selected crew.

Edit Placeholder

Similar to editing a project, double-clicking a placeholder will open the editor, where you will find several tabs for editing:

  • General
  • Dependencies
  • History
  • Safran
  • Tags
  • Comments
  • and for Intervention Projects only: INV

General

In the General tab, you can edit all details that were added when creating the placeholder, such as slot, well, project name, start date, duration, crew, POB, and maturity phase.

Dependencies

In the Dependencies tab, you can add a predecessor or successor to a project.

A predecessor is a project that takes place before the one you are editing, while a successor happens after.

To add a dependency simply click “Add predecessor” or “Add successor.”

  • You will see a set of filters and search options to help you find the right project. You can filter by date range and crew.
  • Projects are grouped by location and sorted by slot.
  • Within each slot, projects are sorted by title.
  • You can search by title or slot.
  • You can filter by crew(s) and start date.
  • By default, the list displays projects with start dates within two months before and after today’s date.

After adding a project, you will return to the editor where you can set the dependency type, lag, or delete the dependency.

Dependency types:

  • End to Start: The successor starts when the predecessor ends.
  • Start to Start: Both projects start at the same time.
  • End to End: Both projects end at the same time.
  • Start to End: The successor ends when the predecessor starts.

**Lag represents the time gap between the two projects, measured in days. **

If you move a predecessor, its successor will follow, keeping the chosen lag.

You can visually see dependencies in the Gantt chart, and can be shown or hidden as needed.

Remember:

Manual start date changes are only allowed for the first project (predecessor) in a sequence. All following projects are locked until their predecessors are removed.

Projects with one or more successors cannot be unassigned. You will be prompted to delete all predecessors and successors before unassigning.

INV (intervention Projects only)

This tab appears only for intervention projects, not for rig projects.

In the INV tab, you can:

  • Add project type
  • Add planning duration
  • Assign engineers
  • Toggle Summary performed
  • Add status

History

The History tab tracks all changes made to placeholder. This allows you to see who made changes, what was changed, and when.

Each record includes:

  • Author name
  • Action (add, update, delete)
  • Entity state (before and after)
  • Date and time
  • You can expand each record to view detailed information.

Safran

Masterplan sends information to Safran. In this tab, you can add risk, work order number, responsible, task manager, and shutdown.

You can also toggle “Reference to Masterplan” and “Reference to Operation Plan”, depending on what’s required for the project.

We have implemented rules that automatically send phase information to Safran. To ensure consistent updates, the system synchronizes data every Friday at 16:00 CET, with the following conditions:

  • Only assigned phases are sent.
  • Only phases from the main (applied) masterplan are included.
  • Only phases from Statfjord A, B, and C are sent.

Tags

In the Tags tab, you can add tags based on groups and tags created by an admin. Tags make it easier to sort and find projects.

See the separate article on Tags for more details. Create and Manage Tags

Comments

In the Comments tab, you can view all comments created by you or other users.

You can edit, delete, or resolve comments directly in this tab.
