Open/ RMS Release Notes 3.10
In this latest release, we are introducing a series of significant updates designed to enhance your workflow. These changes are aimed at improving functionality, and providing a clearer, more organized presentation of data.
DSV Distribution Only For Critical Path
This update ensures that DSV distribution is specifically applied to activities on the Critical Path, providing improved accuracy and focus.
What's Changing:
Distribution for Critical Path Only: DSV distribution will now be exclusively applied to activities that are on the Critical Path.
Ignoring Non-Critical Activities: Activities that are not part of the Critical Path will be excluded from the DSV distribution.
Focus on P10, AFE, and P90: DSV distribution for P10, AFE, and P90 will be performed exclusively for activities that are part of the Critical Path.
Quick Edit Button Functionality Enhancement
We are making updates to the quick edit button functionality in RMS and Open. These changes align the availability of the quick edit button with specific conditions to enhance workflow efficiency.
What's Changing:
RMS: In RMS, the quick edit button will now be disabled when the project status is "Offshore Draft". This ensures that quick edits are not performed during this phase when more comprehensive reviews and approvals may be necessary.
**Open: **For projects in the "Signed" phase within Open, the quick edit button will be disabled.
Expanded Step Editing: Under Procedures, all steps are now expanded by default, allowing you to view and edit all steps simultaneously.
Save Changes Button: We've introduced a convenient "SAVE CHANGES" button at the top of the page.
New RMS Preview/Export to PDF Template
We are excited to introduce a brand-new preview/export to PDF template exclusively for RMS. This template brings several visual enhancements to the Activity and Step sections, making it easier to review and export your data.
What's Changing:
Activity Section:
**Text Size Increase: **In the Activity section, we have increased the text size for the activity number and title, making them more prominent and easier to read.
- Two-Column Display: If the Risk and Mitigation and Notes fields contain data, they will now be displayed in two columns under the Activity Title, without borders. This new format offers a cleaner and more organized presentation of data.
- Comments Display: When comments are toggled on, Activity comments will be displayed below the Activity section.
Step Section:
Two-Column Display: Steps with data will be presented in a two-column format.
- Left Column: Contains the step title, description, input parameters, and responsible information.
- Right Column: Contains checks, report parameters, and step comments if comments are toggled on.
Extension for "Unit Other" on Step Input and Report Parameters
With this update, we now support "Unit Other," enabling the display of specific values when this unit type is imported via the RMS API.
What's New:
Unit Type "Other" Support: Step Input Parameters and Report Parameters have been extended to support the "Unit Other" type. This means that when data with the unit type "Other" is imported via the RMS API, the specific value will be displayed in place of the generic "Other" designation.
Improved Procedure Activity Notes and Risks
We introduce an enhanced feature set for Procedure Activity Notes and Risks, designed to streamline data input and improve the organization of your activities.
What's Changing:
Activity Column Adjustment: The columns for "Risk and Mitigation" and "Parallel Activities and Notes" have been removed to create a more efficient and focused workspace. The space within the Activity is now fully utilized, providing more room for defining and managing steps.
Markdown Fields: When adding or editing activities, users can now make use of two Markdown fields. These fields allow for the input of "Activity Notes" and "Activity Risks," improving clarity and structure within each activity.
**Icon Indicators: **To make your content more visible and accessible, icons with dots have been added next to the Activity title. These icons will only appear when there is content in the respective fields.
Data Migration: All content previously located within the "Risk and Mitigation" and "Parallel Activities and Notes" sections has been seamlessly mapped to the new Markdown fields. This ensures that your existing data will work with the improved solution.
Enhanced Step Fields and Responsible Field
We introduce a feature that brings more flexibility and organization to your steps. With this update, you can now add and manage custom fields within steps and have a dedicated "Responsible" field for clear assignment.
What's New:
Add Field Button: A new "Add Field" button is now available, allowing you to select and add custom fields to your steps.
Responsible Field: The "Input Parameters" field has been replaced with a "Responsible" field, which is always visible beneath the description field. This field is ideal for specifying the responsible party for a given step, improving clarity and accountability.
Dropdown Selection: Users can select a field from the dropdown list, and once selected, that field is disabled in the dropdown. This prevents duplication of field types and ensures content consistency.
Dynamic Removal: If all content within a field is deleted, the field is automatically removed. This allows you to maintain a clean and organized step structure. You can then select the field from the dropdown list again if needed.
Sorting Order: The sorting order for fields in the preview and PDF export is aligned with the order on the step. This maintains consistency and coherence in your documentation.
Bug Fixes:
File Name Renaming Issue: Previously, when opening a file, the system would rename the file with a unique ID, which could be inconvenient for users, especially when there was a need to download or reference the file. We have fixed this issue, and file names will now remain consistent when opening files.
**Editing Actual Time During DOP Revision: **A bug allowed users to make changes to Actual time on the OPEN platform, even when the DOP was under revision. This behavior could lead to unintended alterations in the data. We have fixed this issue, ensuring that during DOP revision, the editing of Actual time is restricted, maintaining data accuracy and adherence to the revision process.
**"Edit Step Mode" Activation: **A bug prevented the "Edit Step Mode" from automatically opening when users clicked on an empty step field. This behavior was causing inconvenience and workflow interruptions. We have fixed this issue, and now the "Edit Step Mode" will open as expected when clicking on an empty step field.
**"500 Error" During Range Input Parameter Edit: **Users encountered a "500 Error" when attempting to edit range Input parameters, disrupting the editing process and causing inconvenience. We have addressed this issue, and you can now edit range Input parameters without encountering the "500 Error."
**Timeplan End Time Calculation: **There was a bug that included AFE time in the end time of the timeplan, leading to inaccuracies in time calculations. We have addressed this issue, and now the end time of the timeplan accurately reflects the total time required, without including AFE time.
Wellbore Input Under Design Mode: Users encountered issues when trying to input wellbore information under design mode. The system was not functioning as expected, leading to disruptions in well and wellbore management. We have addressed this issue, and you can now input wellbore information under design mode without any problems.
Budget Time (AFE, etc.): Previously, when copying tasks, the Budget time (including AFE, etc.) was copied along with the task, which could lead to unwanted data duplication. We have addressed this issue, and now, the Budget time will not be copied when duplicating tasks.
**Omit: **Additionally, the "Omit" setting was previously copied with tasks, which was not ideal for maintaining task accuracy. We have improved the "Copy Task" function to ensure that the "Omit" setting is not copied when tasks are duplicated.
**Latecomer Color: **The color coding for "Latecomer" tasks was copied even if the destination plan was in draft mode. We've resolved this issue so that the "Latecomer" color is not copied when duplicating tasks, regardless of the plan's status.
We are dedicated to providing you with a more streamlined and efficient tool. Your feedback and input are invaluable as we continue to evolve and enhance our services to better meet your needs. Thank you for your continued trust in our platform.
